Civil suits may be filed for up to $10,000.00 with Costs and Attorney Fees added to the judgment. The fees are tiered depending upon the amount if the suit.
- $29.00 - If the sum claimed does not exceed $1,000
- $51.00 - If the sum claimed exceeds $1,000 but does not exceed $2,500.
- $101.00 - If the sum claimed exceeds $2,500 but does not exceed $4,500.
- $126.00 - If the sum claimed exceeds $4,500 but does not exceed $6,500.
- $151.00 - If the sum claimed exceeds $6,500 but does not exceed $7,500.
- $176.00 - If the sum claimed exceeds $7,500 but does not exceed $10,000
Due to the complexity of this type of action, an attorney is usually retained. The court supplies NO forms or procedures.
